  • Malaysian Journal of Learning and Instruction

    Malaysian Journal of Learning and Instruction (MJLI) is abstracted in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) since 2016 and Scopus 2012. It is a double-blind peer reviewed, international academic journal published biannually (January and July) by Universiti Utara Malaysia. The aims of the journal are to communicate research and stimulate discussion, study and critique of teaching and learning, and to encourage scholarly writing on learning and instruction.

    Coverage of MJLI includes, but is not limited to critical examination of ecosystems and issues surrounding the processes of meaningful teaching and learning and better educational practices. These could be addressed at micro level (e.g., innovative modes of delivery, instructional design and technology, learning engagement, instructional settings) or at macro level (e.g., motivation, engaging curriculum, impact of socio-psychological and cultural factors on learning). We welcome original empirical research articles with novel perspectives and/or methodological approaches that would appeal to an international readership. We do not accept unsolicited conceptual and theoretical papers.

    MJLI supports open access. The electronic full text version of the journal is available free of charge.

  • Journal of Information and Communication Technology

    Journal of Information and Communication Technology (JICT) is abstracted and indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) in November 2017 and Scopus since 2011. It is a double-blind peer reviewed, international academic journal published quarterly (January, April, July and October) by Universiti Utara Malaysia.This journal covers all aspects of information and communication technology, its theories and applications. The aim of this journal is to provide coverage of the most significant research and development in the area of information and communication technology. To be accepted, a paper must be judged to be truly out standing in its field and to be of interest to a wide audience. We are particularly interested in work at the boundaries, both the boundaries of subdisciplines of information and communication technology and the boundaries between information and communication technology and other fields. This is an open access journal. The articles on this site are available in full-text and free of charge to our web visitors.

  • UUM Journal of Legal Studies

    The UUM Journal of Legal Studies (UUM JLS) was founded in 2010. It is a double-blind peer reviewed, international academic journal published biannually (January and July) by Universiti Utara Malaysia. Providing up-to-date, academic, authoritative and critical analysis of current legal issues in Malaysia and across the globe. The Journal accepts and publishes comparative, jurisprudential, international, and interdisciplinary materials relevant to law.

    Submissions to the Journal are selected for publication on the basis of a double blind peer-review mechanism conducted through an internal and external Article review Board consisting of academics and experts in the field. 

  • Journal of International Studies

    The Journal International Studies (JIS) is a refereed journal published annually (December) by the Universiti Utara Malaysia. JIS is an internationally referred journal focusing on the contemporary issues of world dynamism from various perspectives, among others politics, international relations, diplomacy, economy, business, cross-cultural management, trade, law, and development. JIS invites prospective authors to submit original and unpublished work in areas that include but not limited to human rights, democratisation, trade arrangements, border disputes, corporate governance, multinational enterprises, logictis and supply chain, global maritime, sustainable development, political violence, and terrorism. Topics that of analysing regional comparative studies are also welcome.

    JIS is a refereed and open access journal that is available free-of-charge to anyone with access to internet, and there are no publication fees or article processing charges in this open journal. JIS is financially supported and published under the auspices of the Universiti Utara Malaysia, College of Law, Government and International Studies, School of International Studies.
  • International Journal of Banking and Finance

    The International Journal of Banking and Finance (IJBF) provides a publication forum for international scholars and practitioners in banking, finance and insurance to disseminate their theoretical, empirical and applied research through anonymously blind peer review process. The journal provides a global forum wherein academicians and practitioners share ideas, elucidate practices and enhance the existing theoretical and practical positions.

    The journal aims to reach contributors and readerships worldwide and, in particular, those in the developing countries whose needs are currently more acute. The editorial policy encourages and solicits research papers that reflect novel practical and theoretical breakthroughs in banking, finance and insurance in different financial and economic environments. It is published by the Universiti Utara Malaysia twice a year. Areas of interest for this journal include, but are not limited to, the following topics: behavioural economics, corporate finance, financial institutions and markets, financial services, insurance, international economics and trade, international finance, macroeconomics, monetary policy, financial economics, portfolio and security analysis, real estate, ethical finance, money and banking and accounting and financial reporting.

    Malaysian Management Journal (MMJ) is a refereed journal published annually (July) by Universiti Utara Malaysia. Its main objective is to provide a channel for the publication of articles based on empirical research, original thoughts, comparative studies and commentaries in management, economics, information technology, accounting, tourism and hospitality, marketing and other areas related to the subject of management. To encourage more exchange of ideas we also welcome shorter discursive contributions such as rejoinders, critiques, book reviews and conference reports so long as there is some space given to critical reflections on particular subjects of interest in the wider field of management.

    This journal will benefit not only academicians and graduate students in management programs, but also managers and practitioners in other areas relevant to management.

    Practitioner Research is a double-blind, peer-reviewed journal that features the work of practitioner researchers across disciplines and levels, largely from social sciences, for example, education, counseling, accounting, management, business, computing, history, and law. Its main objective is to provide a platform for the publication of articles related to issues of economics and sustainability. The papers in the journal include empirical and theoretical findings examining sustainable economic development of nations of developed and developing world. The journal also provides avenues for students, academicians, managers and practitioners in the areas of economics and sustainability to present their research findings.


    The topics covered in JES include, but not limited to, economic development and policies, development and sustainability management, environmental and natural resources economics, public economics, labour economics, economics of happiness, food systems and populations.   • Journal of Computational Innovation and Analytics

    Journal of Computational Innovation and Analytics (JCIA) is an initiative of the School of Quantitative Science (SQS), Universiti Utara Malaysia to further promote high-impact scholarly articles among the professionals globally. The meaning of each word from the JCIA title is as follows:
    · Computational: Involving the calculation of answers, amounts, results, etc.
    · Innovation: The development of new products, designs, or ideas.
    · Analytics: A process in which a computer examines information using mathematical methods in order to find useful patterns.


    JCIA is an open access journal of double-blind techniques that aims to publish original papers every 6 months (January and July) in the form of concepts, research results, as well as case studies, related to ideas, consulting activities, designs, and new products, as well as quantitative methods for identifying useful patterns in the applications of mathematics, computational mathematics and statistics. JCIA in particular will build its identity by focusing on innovative aspects and computational - based analytical methods. In particular, JCIA is designed to focus on the publication of papers in fields which are still new and even rapidly growing and are currently focusing on innovation in the production of mathematical methods to identify useful patterns in pure mathematics, computational mathematics, pure statistics, applied mathematics and statistics, probability and uncertainty, as well as computer science applications.

Kehadiran RENTAS diharap dapat membuka ruang kepada para cendekiawan dan para pelajar (khususnya pelajar pascasiswazah) untuk bersama-sama menyebarluaskan hasil penyelidikan berkaitan pengurusan isu-isu bahasa, sastera, dan budaya dalam lingkungan dunia Austronesia dan Malayonesia, selari dengan bidang tujahan UUM, iaitu universiti pengurusan terkemuka.
