Malpractice Statement

 

RENTAS: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastera dan Budaya (JBSB) is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards for all parties involved in the act of publishing in a peer-reviewed journal: the author, the editor of the journal, the peer reviewer and the publisher JBSB publishing ethics, both internally and externally, are based on- and adhere to- the Committee on Publication Ethics's (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and Conduct for Journal Publishers.

 

A. Editor Responsibilities

Accountability and Plagiarism: The editors of a peer-reviewed journal are accountable and responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published. The editor may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. It is our routine procedure to run all submission through plagiarism detection software. Our acceptance rate is <20%. The editor may confer with other editors or reviewers when making this decision.

Fair Play: An editor should evaluate manuscripts for those intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

 

Confidentiality: The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

 

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.

 

B. Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers must keep information pertaining to the manuscript confidential. Reviewers must bring to the attention of the Editor-in-Chief any information that may be reason to reject publication of a manuscript. Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts only for their intellectual content.

 

Review Process: Each paper is first reviewed by the editor and, if it is judged suitable for this publication, it is then sent to two referees for double blind peer review. Manuscripts will undergo a preliminary screening by the Chief Editor. Subsequently, appointed Editorial Board member will appoint at least two independent referees for review process. Decisions regarding the publication of a manuscript will be based on the Board's recommendations. Manuscripts submitted by members of the journal's Editorial Board are subjected to the same review procedure.

 

Reporting Standards: Authors should present their results clearly, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification or inappropriate data manipulation. Authors should describe their methods clearly and unambiguously so that their findings can be confirmed by others.

 

Originality, Plagiarism and Acknowledgement of Sources: Authors should adhere to publication requirements that submitted work is original, is not plagiarized, and has not been published elsewhere - fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable. If an author has used the work and/or words of others, that this original is been appropriately cited or quoted and accurately reflects individuals’ contributions to the work and its reporting.

 

Data Access and Retention: Authors may be asked to provide the raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review, and should in any event be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.

 

Ethics: Authors should only submit papers only on work that has been conducted in an ethical and responsible manner and that complies with all relevant legislation.

 

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.

 

Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Where there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.

 

Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publication: An author should not in general submit and/or publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

 

Fundamental errors in published works: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.

This licence permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction provided that the authors, citation details and publisher are clearly identified. Etika Penerbitan dan Pernyataan Etika (Malamalan)

RENTAS: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastera dan Budaya (JBSB) komited untuk mengekalkan piawaian etika tertinggi bagi semua pihak yang terlibat dalam proses penerbitan jurnal yang disemak oleh rakan sejawat: penulis, editor jurnal, penilai (reviewer) dan penerbit. Etika penerbitan JBSB, sama ada secara dalaman mahupun luaran, adalah berdasarkan dan mematuhi Garis Panduan Amalan Terbaik untuk Editor Jurnal dan Kod Etika untuk Penerbit Jurnal yang ditetapkan oleh Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

A. Tanggungjawab Editor

Tanggungjawab dan Plagiarisme: Editor jurnal yang disemak oleh rakan sebaya bertanggungjawab sepenuhnya dalam membuat keputusan tentang artikel yang dihantar untuk diterbitkan. Editor boleh berpandukan polisi lembaga editorial jurnal serta terikat dengan undang-undang berkaitan fitnah, pelanggaran hak cipta dan plagiarisme yang sedang berkuat kuasa. Semua manuskrip yang dihantar akan melalui pemeriksaan perisian pengesanan plagiarisme sebagai prosedur rutin. Kadar penerimaan kami ialah kurang daripada 20%. Editor boleh merujuk kepada editor atau penilai lain dalam membuat keputusan.

Layanan Saksama: Editor hendaklah menilai manuskrip berdasarkan kandungan intelektual tanpa mengira bangsa, jantina, orientasi seksual, kepercayaan agama, asal etnik, kewarganegaraan atau fahaman politik penulis.

Kerahsiaan: Editor dan staf editorial tidak boleh mendedahkan sebarang maklumat mengenai manuskrip yang dihantar kepada sesiapa kecuali kepada penulis yang bertanggungjawab, penilai, bakal penilai, penasihat editorial lain, dan penerbit, mengikut keperluan.

Pendedahan dan Konflik Kepentingan: Maklumat atau idea istimewa yang diperoleh melalui proses penilaian mestilah dirahsiakan dan tidak digunakan untuk kepentingan peribadi. Penilai tidak seharusnya menilai manuskrip yang menimbulkan konflik kepentingan akibat hubungan persaingan, kerjasama atau hubungan lain dengan mana-mana penulis, institusi, atau syarikat yang berkaitan dengan manuskrip tersebut.

B. Tanggungjawab Penilai (Reviewer)

Penilai mesti merahsiakan semua maklumat berkaitan manuskrip yang dinilai. Mereka mesti memaklumkan kepada Ketua Editor sekiranya terdapat maklumat yang boleh menjadi sebab untuk menolak penerbitan manuskrip. Penilaian harus berdasarkan kandungan intelektual sahaja.

Proses Penilaian: Setiap manuskrip akan disemak terlebih dahulu oleh editor. Jika manuskrip dianggap sesuai, ia akan dihantar kepada dua orang penilai untuk semakan sejawat secara double blind. Manuskrip akan melalui saringan awal oleh Ketua Editor. Kemudian, ahli Lembaga Editorial akan melantik sekurang-kurangnya dua orang penilai bebas untuk proses penilaian. Keputusan penerbitan akan berdasarkan kepada syor daripada penilai. Manuskrip yang dihantar oleh ahli Lembaga Editorial jurnal juga tertakluk kepada prosedur penilaian yang sama.

C. Tanggungjawab Penulis

Standard Pelaporan: Penulis hendaklah menyampaikan hasil kajian mereka dengan jelas, jujur, dan tanpa pemalsuan, penipuan atau manipulasi data yang tidak wajar. Kaedah yang digunakan perlu dijelaskan dengan teliti agar penemuan dapat disahkan oleh pihak lain.

Keaslian, Plagiarisme dan Pengakuan Sumber: Penulis mesti memastikan bahawa karya yang dihantar adalah asli, tidak ditiru, dan belum diterbitkan di tempat lain. Kenyataan yang palsu atau tidak tepat secara sengaja adalah tidak beretika tidak boleh diterima. Sekiranya menggunakan hasil kerja atau kata-kata orang lain, sumber tersebut mestilah dinyatakan secara betul dan tepat serta mencerminkan sumbangan individu terhadap hasil kerja tersebut.

Akses dan Penyimpanan Data: Penulis boleh diminta untuk menyediakan data asal bagi tujuan semakan editorial dan perlu bersedia menyimpan data tersebut untuk satu tempoh masa yang munasabah selepas penerbitan.

Etika: Penulis hanya boleh menghantar manuskrip berdasarkan kajian yang dijalankan secara beretika dan bertanggungjawab serta mematuhi semua undang-undang yang berkenaan.

Pendedahan dan Konflik Kepentingan: Semua penulis perlu mendedahkan sebarang konflik kepentingan kewangan atau lain-lain yang boleh mempengaruhi keputusan atau interpretasi manuskrip. Semua sumber kewangan projek juga perlu dinyatakan.

Sumbangan Pengarang: Hanya mereka yang telah memberi sumbangan besar dalam konsep, reka bentuk, pelaksanaan atau interpretasi kajian yang dilaporkan boleh disenaraikan sebagai penulis bersama. Mereka yang terlibat dalam aspek tertentu hendaklah diiktiraf atau disenaraikan sebagai penyumbang. Penulis yang bertanggungjawab perlu memastikan semua penulis bersama bersetuju dengan kandungan akhir dan bersetuju untuk menghantar manuskrip untuk penerbitan.

Penerbitan di Platform Lain Secara Bertindih atau Serentak: Secara amnya, penulis tidak boleh menghantar dan/atau menerbitkan kajian yang pada asasnya sama dalam lebih daripada satu jurnal atau penerbitan utama. Menghantar manuskrip yang sama kepada lebih daripada satu jurnal pada masa yang sama adalah tidak beretika dan tidak boleh diterima.

Kesilapan dalam Penerbitan: Jika penulis mendapati terdapat kesilapan besar atau ketidaktepatan dalam karya yang telah diterbitkan, adalah menjadi tanggungjawab penulis untuk segera memaklumkan editor jurnal atau penerbit dan bekerjasama untuk menarik balik atau membetulkan artikel tersebut.
