Abstract

Pandemik COVID-19 telah mendorong institut pengajian mengaplikasi peperiksaan dalam talian (PDT) sebagai bentuk penilaian yang penting. Transformasi ini telah membawa cabaran besar kepada pelajar dan pemeriksa dari segi integriti akademik, isu teknikal, dan tahap keselesaan. Kertas kajian ini menganalisis persepsi pengajar dan pelatih Institut Latihan Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (ILKKM) terhadap PDT. Kajian ini dilakukan secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan borang soal selidik secara dalam talian yang diedarkan kepada 451 pengajar dan 4002 pelatih di ILKKM. Dapatan mendapati bahawa responden dari kumpulan pengajar menunjukkan perspesi yang positif dan negatif terhadap aplikasi peperiksaan dalam talian (PDT). Ramai pengajar memberi respon positif bahawa PDT sesuai untuk menguji kefahaman calon, menjimatkan masa, tenaga, dan kos. Walau bagaimanapun, para pengajar mempamerkan kebimbangan dengan memberi respon positif terhadap keadilan kepada semua calon, keselamatan peperiksaan, dan isu teknikal. Persepsi pelatih terhadap PDT secara keseluruhannya adalah positif. Mereka bersetuju bahawa PDT sesuai untuk semua subjek, memudahkan penilaian yang tepat, dan memberi mereka peluang untuk fokus dan merasa kurang stres semasa menjawab soalan. Pelatih juga memberi penekanan positif terhadap kebolehpercayaan teknologi yang digunakan dalam PDT dan keselamatan peperiksaan. Kesimpulannya, PDT memberi pelbagai manfaat kepada pelatih dan pengajar di ILKKM, walaupun cabaran teknikal dan integriti masih perlu diatasi. Oleh itu, langkah-langkah penambahbaikan perlu diambil untuk meningkatkan keberkesanan dan kebolehpercayaan peperiksaan dalam talian di masa akan datang.

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted educational institutions to implement online examinations (PDT) as a crucial form of assessment. This transformation has brought significant challenges to students and examiners in terms of academic integrity, technical issues, and comfort levels. This paper analyzes the perceptions of instructors and trainees at the Ministry of Health Malaysia Training Institute (ILKKM) regarding PDT. The study was conducted quantitatively using online survey forms distributed to 451 instructors and 4002 trainees at ILKKM. The results indicate that respondents in the instructor group demonstrated both positive and negative perceptions toward online examination applications. Many instructors responded positively that PDT is suitable for testing candidates' understanding, saving time, energy, and costs. However, instructors also expressed concerns by positively responding to fairness for all candidates, examination security, and technical issues. Trainees' overall perception of PDT is positive. They agree that PDT is suitable for all subjects, facilitates accurate assessment, and provides them with the opportunity to focus and feel less stressed while answering questions. Trainees also emphasize the positive reliability of the technology used in PDT and examination security. In conclusion, PDT offers various benefits to trainees and instructors at ILKKM, although technical challenges and integrity issues still need to be addressed. Therefore, improvement measures need to be taken to enhance the effectiveness and reliability of online examinations in the future.
