Kajian ini bertujuan mengenal pasti hubungan antara sifat spiritual ibu bapa dengan estim kendiri pelajar Fakulti Pengajian Pendidikan, UPM. Responden terdiri daripada 205 orang pelajar dipilih mengikut kaedah persampelan kluster. Instrumen yang digunakan iaitu soal selidik Parental Spiritual Characteristics Scales (PSCS) dan RosenbergSelf-Esteem Scale (RSES). Ujian statistik yang digunakan ialah kaedah analisis diskriptif dan analisis Pearson Correlation. Hasil kajian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan sifat spiritual ibu bapa dengan estim kendiri pelajar Fakulti Pengajian Pendidikan, UPM. Kajian ini turut memberikan manfaat kepada pihak universiti, ibu bapa dan kaunselor dalam memahami aspek-aspek sifat spiritual ibu bapa dan estim kendiri pelajar.</p><p><strong><em>Abstract</em></strong></p><p>The spiritual nature of parents in educating children has a tremendous impact not only on family relationships but also on the child’s own personality when they become adults. The purpose of this study is to identify the spiritual&nbsp;characteristics of parents who are often practiced with the students’ selfesteem of the Faculty of Educational Studies, UPM. Respondents were 205 students, selected according to cluster sampling method. The instruments used were Parental Spiritual Characteristics Scales (PSCS) and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES). The statistical test used is descriptive analysis and Pearson Correlation. The results showed that there was a relationship between the parents’ spiritual character and the self-esteem of the Faculty of Educational Studies, UPM. This study also benefits the university, parents and counselors in understanding aspects of parent’s spiritual traits and student self- esteem.</p><p><em>Keywords: Spiritual characteristics, self- esteem, parent-child correlation.</em></p> ER -
